Terms of sale for LED panels
Last updated 2026-10-31
These are the terms you agree to when you buy a GridTicker LED panel, and they're here so you can read them before you do. They cover the panel itself: what you get, what it depends on, returning it, its warranty and replacement parts. They're written to be read. If something isn't clear, ask us.
These terms
GridTicker LED panels are sold by GridTicker LLC ("we", "us"). You agree to these terms when you buy a panel from us: checkout asks you to, and we keep a record of when you did and which version you agreed to. They also apply to anyone who sets a panel up or uses it, including one they were given.
If you don't agree, don't set the panel up: send it back within 30 days of delivery and we'll refund what was paid for it, with no restocking fee (see Returns and refunds).
There is no paper copy in the box; the quick start guide points here. If you'd like these terms on paper, write to us at support@gridticker.com or GridTicker LLC, PO Box 85954, Lexington, SC 29073, and we'll mail you a printed copy, free.
The GridTicker service the panel connects to - your account, the subscription and the app - is covered by our terms of use and privacy policy, and the logos it shows by our logo page. Where these terms and the terms of use disagree about the panel itself, these terms apply.
What you get
- The panel, and everything in the box with it. It's yours once it's delivered.
- A free trial of the GridTicker service with each panel - three months, as these terms stand - by the code on the card in its box. Using the code makes or links a GridTicker account and starts a subscription whose first charge comes when the trial is up - or, if the account already has a subscription, moves its next charge later by the length of the trial. Cancel before the trial is up and nothing is charged. Each code works once, for whoever uses it, so a panel given as a gift brings its trial to the person you give it to.
- Not the service after that. To keep showing your ticker once the trial is up, the panel needs a GridTicker subscription - see What the panel needs.
- Prices are in US dollars and are shown before you pay, with any shipping charge and any sales tax we are required to collect.
- We sell and ship panels only to addresses in the United States.
- We may cancel an order before it ships - for example when a price was shown wrongly or we have run out. If we do, we refund everything you paid.
- If your panel arrives damaged, or doesn't arrive, tell us within 7 days of delivery, or of the delivery date we gave you, and we'll replace it or refund you, shipping included.
What the panel needs
The panel is a screen for the GridTicker service. It doesn't keep scores, prices or forecasts itself: it draws what our service sends it. So to show your ticker it needs:
- a GridTicker account to link it to, which you can make while you set it up;
- an active subscription once the free trial that came with the panel is up. The price, renewals and canceling are in the billing terms, and one subscription covers every panel on the account;
- Wi-Fi with a working internet connection. Networks that need a sign-in page, as many hotels and dorms do, won't work;
- our service, and the sources it gets its information from (see When data or features go away).
Without a subscription, the panel stops showing your ticker. It may go on showing a basic set of scores it can fetch for itself, but that isn't part of what you buy, and it can stop at any time.
Returning a panel doesn't cancel your subscription, and canceling your subscription doesn't return the panel. Do each one on its own.
When data or features go away
Almost everything the panel shows comes from somebody else: sports leagues and the companies that publish their scores, stock exchanges and market data providers, news outlets, weather services and government agencies, flight trackers, space agencies and others. We don't own or control any of them, and the panel can show only what the GridTicker service is able to get from them.
Any of them can change what they provide, start charging for it, limit or refuse our access, or stop altogether, and the owner of a name, a logo or a picture can ask us to stop showing it. When that happens - or for legal, security, technical or business reasons of our own - we may change, replace, limit, suspend or remove any data source, league, competition, feature, logo, picture or other content, for some customers or for all of them, and without notice when we can't reasonably give it.
- You're buying a panel that shows what the service offers at the time, not a fixed list. The leagues, sources and features named on our website, in an ad or on the box describe the service when that was written. They aren't a promise that each one will always be there.
- A change like this isn't a defect in the panel. The limited warranty covers the hardware. A change to what the service offers isn't a breach of it or of these terms, and it doesn't entitle you to a refund or compensation, beyond your right to return the panel within the return window and any right the law gives you that can't be taken away.
- The subscription is month to month. If the service stops giving you what you want, cancel it whenever you like and you won't be charged again.
- When we take away something significant, we'll say so in the app or by email when we reasonably can.
If the service ends
If we ever shut the GridTicker service down, we'll tell you by email at least 90 days before it stops, and we won't charge your subscription after it stops. From then on the panel won't show your ticker. The service ending isn't a defect in the panel and doesn't entitle you to a refund for it, except where the law says otherwise. The panel's software is open source (see Software and updates), so it can be changed to work without our service, but we don't promise to do that work.
Returns and refunds
You can return a panel within 30 days of delivery, for any reason.
| The panel is | You get back | Return shipping |
|---|---|---|
| Not set up - never linked to an account | What you paid for the panel | Paid by you |
| Set up and working, and you've changed your mind | What you paid for the panel, less a 15% restocking fee | Paid by you |
| Faulty, damaged in shipping, or not what you ordered | A repair, a replacement or a full refund, shipping included | Paid by us |
- Start with an email to support@gridticker.com, or a reply to any of our emails about your order, with your order number. We'll reply with where to send the panel, and the order number goes on the box. A parcel that arrives without one may be refused.
- Send everything back - the panel, its power cable and anything else that came in the box - packed well enough to arrive undamaged, in the original box if you still have it. If something is missing, or was damaged after it reached you, we may take its cost off the refund.
- Before you pack it, remove the panel from your account under Settings → LED panels. That makes it forget your Wi-Fi network and its password.
- Use a tracked service. Unless we're paying for the return, the panel is your responsibility until it reaches us.
- We refund the way you paid, within 10 business days of receiving the panel. The original shipping charge is refunded only when the return is because of something we got wrong.
- A returned panel's trial ends with it. If its code was used, we take back the time the code added: the subscription's next charge moves back by that much, and a subscription the code itself started is set to end then, so nothing is charged unless you turn it back on.
- After the return window, a fault is handled under the limited warranty instead.
- If the law where you live gives you a longer or wider right to return or cancel, you have that right as well.
One-year limited warranty
We warrant to the person who bought the panel new from us that it will be free of defects in materials and workmanship, in normal indoor use, for one year from the day it was delivered. This warranty covers only that original buyer.
- What we'll do. If it isn't, tell us within that year, and we'll repair it, replace it with a new or refurbished panel that works as well, or refund what you paid for it - our choice. A repaired or replacement panel is covered for the rest of the original year or for 90 days, whichever is longer.
- How to claim. Write to support@gridticker.com with your order number, the panel's name from Settings → LED panels, and what it's doing. A photo or a short video helps. Panels report their health to us, so we can often find the problem without the panel leaving your wall. If it does need to come back, we'll send you a prepaid label for an address in the United States and return the repaired or replacement panel at our cost.
- What it doesn't cover: damage from accidents, drops, liquid, moisture, outdoor use, power surges or lightning; using a power supply or cable that didn't come with the panel; damage caused by opening the panel, changing it or having it repaired by anybody but us; scratches and other cosmetic wear; the slow dimming every LED goes through as it ages; and up to 3 individual LEDs per module that are out, stuck or dimmer than the rest, which is within the panel's specification.
- Changing the panel's software doesn't void this warranty by itself. If a change you made causes a problem, fixing that problem isn't covered.
- It covers the hardware only - not the GridTicker service, its information or its features (see When data or features go away), which are covered by the terms of use.
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE ONE-YEAR PERIOD OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM A BREACH OF THIS WARRANTY OR OF ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Replacement parts
If a part of your panel fails or is damaged and the limited warranty doesn't cover it, write to support@gridticker.com. We'll tell you whether we can sell you a replacement, and what it would cost with shipping.
- We may not be able to get it. The parts in a panel are made in production runs, and older ones stop being made. Once we can't obtain a part any more, we can't sell you a replacement for it.
- A replacement may not match. LED panels look most even when all their LEDs come from the same production batch: LEDs from different batches differ slightly in color and brightness. So we can't guarantee that a replacement - an LED module in your panel, or a panel hung beside others you have - will match the rest in color or brightness. That's as true of a replacement under the warranty as of one you buy.
Software and updates
- The panel's software is open source. GridTicker's own code on the panel is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 3, and the operating system under it is made largely of open-source software, each part under its own license. Nothing in these terms limits what those licenses let you do, including studying, changing and sharing the software. Our open-source notices say where to get the source.
- It updates itself. While the panel is linked to an account and online, it installs our updates automatically, so how it looks and works can change. Leave it plugged in while it shows UPDATING.
- We don't have to keep supporting or updating software that you have changed, or installed yourself.
Leagues, teams and logos
GridTicker LLC isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any league, team, player, broadcaster, stock exchange, airline or data provider. Their names, logos and marks belong to their owners. The panel comes with none of them on it: any logo it shows is sent by our service, only to identify what you're looking at, and can be removed at any time. A logo that stops appearing isn't a defect.
What's on the panel
Scores, prices, headlines, forecasts, flight positions and everything else on the panel can be late, incomplete or wrong. Don't rely on it for betting, trading, navigation, or anything else where accuracy or timing matters. Stock prices may be delayed and are not investment advice.
The panel is not an emergency alert system. Weather warnings and news of earthquakes, tsunamis, storms and wildfires on it can be late, incomplete or missing, and it shows none at all when it's unplugged, offline, scheduled to be dark or without a subscription. Never rely on it to warn you of danger: use official warnings, such as the emergency alerts on your phone, a NOAA weather radio and your local authorities.
Using it safely
- Use it indoors only, somewhere dry, away from water, heat and strong sunlight.
- Use only the power cable that came with it, plugged into a working wall outlet, and stop using a cable that is damaged.
- Hang or stand it so it can't fall, on a wall that can hold its weight, and keep its back clear so it can cool. Run the cable where nobody will trip on it.
- Its LEDs are bright. Don't stare into them up close, and use the brightness and schedule settings to dim it at night.
- It shows moving and flashing pictures. If anybody who will see it has photosensitive epilepsy, ask a doctor first.
- Unplug it before you clean it, and clean it with a dry cloth only. Don't open it.
- It isn't a toy. Keep it, its cable and any small parts away from young children.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from the panel or these terms. Our total liability for any claim about the panel is limited to the amount you paid us for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Governing law and disputes
If something goes wrong, write to us first: most things can be sorted out by email. These terms are governed by the laws of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be heard in the courts there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it somewhere else. Either of us may take a claim to small claims court instead, if it qualifies.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for panels sold after the change, and the date at the top says when we last did. The version you agreed to when you bought your panel is the one that applies to your purchase, and our record says which it was. The service the panel connects to follows the terms of use, which say how changes to them reach you.
The rest
These terms, the order confirmation we sent you and the terms of use are the whole agreement about your panel. If a court decides part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce part of them straight away, we can still enforce it later.
Contact
Write to support@gridticker.com, or to GridTicker LLC, PO Box 85954, Lexington, SC 29073. Please don't send a panel to that address: start a return by email, and we'll tell you where it goes.
