See it running

This is the ticker itself, not a video of one: the same code an account runs, drawing a fixed set of sample games, tables, prices, headlines and flights instead of today's. Every renderer the product has is on it once — which is why a no-hitter and a rain delay are both here at nine in the morning.

Open it full width to see it as a long, short strip across the top of a screen. It keeps scrolling while you read.

What you are looking at

• A live baseball game with the count, the bases and who is up.
• Football with possession, down and distance, and the red zone.
• Basketball, hockey and college scores, finals, and games yet to start.
• Standings, stock prices, headlines and the planes overhead ride the same strip - see the front page for the whole list.

The real thing follows the scores rather than these fixtures, and you choose what appears: teams, leagues, stocks, flights and news, and the hours each of them is allowed on screen.
